Be Mindful

Learn to be mindful in all things. Slow down and breathe. Execute mindfulness in all of your actions, and witness how your world quickly changes. At the core of staying grounded, mindfulness is the basis of all other experience. It doesn’t take long to develop, and with practice, it can transform every area of your life.

Get Grounded

Mindfulness can override impulsive human instincts. One of the most useful phrases to reference when you feel the urge to fight, flee, or freeze creeping up in the back of your neck, is that “Lack of planning does not make it an emergency.” So don’t let it be something that it’s not. It is what it is. In mindfulness, we can accept the error of our ways and progress ahead with wisdom. The world moves quickly, and pop culture has shallow roots; it doesn’t mean that you should hastily forget yours. Your source is your foundation. The roots are the village that it takes to raise you up, so that you may stand tall in even the most enormous storm. Make time to tend the deepest depths of your inner source.

Slow Down

In a world of overcommitment, we set ourselves up for the inner critic to have a field day. Stepping back mindfully, we can better assess our current landscape. A cultural framework of unrealistic expectations, especially those that are self-perpetuated, have to stop. In nurturing ourselves, we can let go of the unnecessary. Wrap up commitments and be careful of taking on more. Mindfulness applies not only to our expectations of self but also in our expectations of others. Staying “on your own team” requires careful examination of your fundamental goals, expectations, and the actions that you are capable of allocating toward these personal goals and aspirations. Nothing more, nothing less.

Breathe

Stay graciously observant. Do not be swayed from your path in folly attempts to people please, or by taking responsibility for facts, attitudes, or emotions that are not yours to bear. You will be okay, and so will everyone else. Take peace in that. Never for a second let the fact that “This is your life and no one else’s” slip from your consciousness. Inspire others by your steadfast attainment of the life you want. Be crippled by no one, and hinder no one else. Not living the life that you desire is on you and you alone. Reach out and seize the dreams that you’re so desperately seeking. It is not a race but an adamantly respectful flow. Slow down, take stock, proceed accordingly. Be mindful in all that you do.
