The purpose of pursuing deeper reflection is to take something that you do regularly, and re- fine it. You already have the skills. Together, we’re just going to make a few tweaks. Mindfulness and meditation are the building blocks that steer your brain and focus your atten- tion. They are a filter to the inundation of stimulus that we all encounter daily. Behind them, all incoming information grinds against your core values and transitions into a new, slightly altered thought or belief.
Why You Need Reflection In Your Life
Do you frequently find yourself overwhelmed by what life is throwing at you? Are you always seeking hard and fast answers from outside sources? Have you ever stopped a task abruptly and thought, “Why I am I even doing this?!” and declared that you’d meditate on it later, only to never get around to it? Making time to think is a crucial step in overcoming obstacles and forming new thought processes that better serve your current state of mind. Taking back the ability to sit in the driver’s seat of thought is a process that stops scattered, subconsciously driven ideas in their tracks. Be true to who you are. Mindfulness is an accessible vehicle of freedom.
You Decide to Reflect, but Then What?
Taking these changes in stride enables you to integrate old and new for a more fluid, current state of being. Getting in touch with this helps you to make better choices that reflect who you are and what you really want. Witnessing the change is the difference between staying true to your evolving self or floating away from center, one piece at a time.
